Elwyndyn Speaks

Hello, let me introduce myself. I am Elwyndyn of the Moon Elf clan and hail from the realm of Paer-Jhysael. I am a Realm Jumper and the leader of the War Council on Earth. Many of you are familiar with me as I feature prominently in the first book of the Realm Jumper Chronicles, Elven-Jumper.
One of the things I hear a lot about my people is how we seem so unemotional, as if we are unfeeling. That is not true. We Elves feel very deeply. However, over the long years of our existence, we have learned there are times to express our emotions and a time when logic must be in control. As a result, we come across quite stoic, which is something that is hard for humans to understand.
Human let their emotions guide them. They are close to the surface and dictate what humans do in any given instance. Sometimes it works out well for them; other times, not so much. I have observed too many times emotions leading to killings, war, and other hurtful situations.
Elves choose to remain balanced. We listen to our emotions, but we do not let them dictate our decisions. This way of being allows us to more fully assess any given situation and to decide on the best course of action.
Have there been times we have let our emotions decide for us? Yes, and it has led to even more heartache, than if we had taken the time to reach a balanced decision. I guess you would say, we have had time to learn from our many mistakes.
Now, when it comes to our mates, our emotions are out there for the world to see. We will do anything for the one the Universe made for us, including laying down our lives. We wait a very long time to find our one true love and we will do anything for them.
If you have been following the Realm Jumper Chronicles, you will notice, the more time we are on Earth, the more we open up. Granted, it is a little at a time, but it is there. However, I do not foresee us ever going back to a time where our emotions dictate our actions. So we will forever remain unfeeling in the eyes of humans.
I hope this little chat helps gives you insight into my people. And stay tuned, you never know when I might share something else.
See you in the stories…
Elwyndyn
I hope you enjoyed Elwyndyn's post. Until next time...
